VOLUME 150, ISSUE 8 AUGUST 2011
The following is a little story about the a Chair Nazi! This person was at the Santa Maria Car Show sitting in her favorite chair, drinking a coke and enjoying the breeze because no one would talk to her. With her coke can now empty she decided to get up and throw away her can (coke can that is). After depositing the can into the trash made her way back to the gang of so called friends. Upon returning she noticed her chair was no longer empty. Low and behold the chair thief was our perky Vice President, Frank Nay. He was taking up residence in what she believed to be her seat.
Frank had his back to the returning coke cola lover and didn’t notice the person standing behind him. Not knowing for sure if the chair was her chair, she went from one chair to the next, to the next, to the next making sure that everyone was in their own chair and not hers. Of course everyone was seated in their own. Frank finally got up (I believe) and the Chair Nazi took over the chair and never moved a muscle until it was time to leave. I’m not going to point fingers at anyone, but I did hear the name Marion!
Welcome to a day with the Road Kings!
Check out the fun at Santa Maria.

I bought the car in 1989, and started on a complete restoration. It needed a grill, hood, and there were only springs for seats. By the way, no convertible top. We replaced all the suspension and drive train.
The car has disc brakes, power steering, a 350 crate motor with a comp cam, and a 350 trans. I joined the Road Kings in 1991, so who am I? Just kidding!

RACE REPORT
Larry Dixon, Al-Anabi Racing Top Fuel Dragster (silver)
Qualifying: Larry Dixon was the No. 10 qualifier at the Mopar Mile-High Nationals. During the first round of qualifying on Friday, Dixon posted a 4.083-second pass at 302.82 mph. It was just the second time this season that Dixon qualified outside the top four.
Eliminations: Dixon raced Tony Schumacher in the first round of eliminations; it was their fifth meeting of the season, and Schumacher took the win with the low elapsed time of the first round.
Unofficial Point Standings: Dixon will remain third in the NHRA Full Throttle Top Fuel point standings. He trails second-place Spencer Massey by 89 points and leads fourth-place Antron Brown by 17.
Dixon on Denver: “It was not a very representative weekend for our Al-Anabi team. Right from the first run of the weekend, we struggled to put down a good lap in qualifying. That put us in the bottom half of the ladder which meant we had to run someone who was running well. That happened to be Tony (Schumacher), and they put their best lap of the weekend on us in the first round. That was it for us in Denver. Point-wise, we took a beating this weekend. Hopefully we can get them back in the next couple of events, but we have work to do.”
